Weingut Julius Treis
The Julius Treis winery is located in Reil on the Middle Mosel and looks back on a long wine-making tradition. Since 1684 the family has been associated with viticulture. Every generation loved and lived the viticulture. Today, Tobias Treis continues the tradition. The 22 acres winery is mainly dedicated to the Riesling grape variety, that is grown in the steep and on the steep slopes. The management here takes place exclusively by hand. A small part of the vineyard on the slopes grows in addition to Riesling also Weissburgunder, Müller-Thurgau, Dornfelder and Pinot Noir.
The knowledge gathered over generations about terroir, peculiarities of the vineyards and legendary stories are their little treasures. They are preserved and passed on from generation to generation. This wealth of experience and intuition can be found in their wines.
Since 2008, Tobias Treis gives the wines his own signature. The Graduate Engineer for Oenology continues the high quality and family tradition and adds new knowledge, passion, idealism and innovative ideas.
Tobias' parents Irma and Theo Treis, who have managed the winery for over 40 years, are still assisting Tobias: Theo Treis advises Tobias Treis. He leads the treasury of the winery, in which many liquid treasures from more than 6 decades mature. Irma Treis passionately cares for their vacationing guests, vine-growers and their guests in the "Schöppchengarten".
Annual production: 57,000 bottles of wine and 3,000 bottles of Sekt. 85% of their production is Riesling. 100% Passion!
