This family run winery is situated in the biggest wine growing village in the Kamptal region of Austria, Langenlois. Karl Steininger and his new wife at the time Brigitta (who also grew up on her families winery) took over the Steininger family farm in 1980. Karl found himself in oenology school shortly thereafter. The Steiningers now have 62 acres of vineyards and the family tree boasts a winemaker on almost every branch. This family history is a badge of honor for many great winemakers, including Karl, and it is what drives him to ensure his wines are the best possible representation of their land. The regional name Kamptal, refers to the Kamp river. This beautiful area is filled with culture and tourism, which are enhanced by the numerous Heurigen, wine taverns and Vinotheques.
